About the Artist
Everyday is a joyful celebration of life and the beauty of nature that surrounds us.
I started painting to document memorable places that I have visited with my family. My canvas served as my journal. Every brush stroke has a place in my painting that adds to its beauty. It's like writing in my journal, each entry makes the story.
I have always loved art, it was not until 12 years ago, however, that I really got involved. I studied the fundamentals, such as color mixing, composition, values, etc... just so I can create what I thought was a cohesive work of art. But that wasn't enough, I studied under the tutelage of a local, nationally known artist who introduced me to “Plein Air Painting”. I also read plethora of books on the subject and later expanded my studies by taking various online classes, workshops on drawings as well as still life painting and portraiture. I enjoy painting en plein air, my outdoor office I call it. I like the spontaneity and the idea of recording that day through painting as it happens. I sometimes paint larger pieces in my studio from the smaller studies or sketches that I painted outdoors.
Lately, my focus shifted to still life painting as dictated by the current 2020 pandemic. I am enjoying the whole creative process. From foraging for greeneries, picking fruits and using vintage items from home to create my set up.
Oil is is my medium of choice. It is magical!
I paint and create art as a soulful expression of gratitude for life, nature and love that surrounds us. I hope my work will bring joy and touch your heart.
